Two months ago I spent some time researching water supply in America and the contaminants that may be in our water systems. I will add my direct links and evidence of my research. I looked into the difference between my Brita Filter we were using, vs. distillation, vs. reverse osmosis... and the list goes on. I wanted something that I knew would remove things such as fluoride and
Pharmaceutical Waste. Although my baby is not yet drinking water, he will be soon and I
don't want to be the
sieve for him while he is still nursing. My personal recommendation is to have a reverse osmosis system installed in your home. For my family I have chosen to go through
Culligan, only because it was broken into an affordable monthly payment and my husband and I did not have to stress the installation of the system. Most reverse osmosis systems waste 3 gallons of water for every gallon of filtered water, Culligan claims to only waste one gallon per gallon. I am completely satisfied and confident that I have made the best decision with this for my family.
I encourage anyone concerned about the quality of their own water to find their local water quality report(
www.epa.gov/ogwdw ). Find out what is in your own water... and from that look into a specific water filtration system that will remove the contaminants specific to your needs.
